The Story:
Jane Austen finally visits Bakewell and wonders up to the Terrifying Tudor House only to discover many of her characters from Pride and Prejudice have leapt from the pages of her book and come to life!
And they are not pleased with her…

The Halloween Event is designed for children and adults. If you are bringing small children, we can advise at to which rooms are scarier.
Included in the Ticket:
A Children’s Trail (and collectible pin badge on completion), Craft Activities, and a full Halloween makeover experience at the museum. The Annual Tickets are also valid for a year and provide Discounts at other Derbyshire venues.
The Children's Trail is a 'Solve the mystery' trail, or for younger children, a Halloween Bingo Trail.
Make a 3D Halloween Scene!
There are moving animatronics - while we are dog friendly, please bear this in mind.For those wanting to look at the history, everything is still on display. Only our introductory video will not be viewable. Please ask the people at the Welcome Desk, who will be more than happy to provide an introduction.
Face painting for children and adults on selected days. £5 per person, payable on the day (please ask)
Special 2025 Event prices are in place: Adults and Children 5-16 £7.50.
The Terrifying Tudor House is designed for families, and we can advise which parts may be a little too scary for younger children.
